A sad day for hockey

This sucks.

I can't say as I'm surprised, but I am disappointed. And I'm not sure how they'll come back from this, if the league and the players can manage to agree before the 2005-06 season begins.

Guess I'll have to go to a Fort Worth Brahmas game to get my hockey fix.

that niche sport is no longer going to have a niche at this rate...

You aren't kidding. And fans in Canada and places where hockey is really popular at all levels won't lose out so much if the NHL never comes back - they have other options for seeing a hockey game. It's the fans in places like Dallas and Phoenix and Tampa and San Jose who've come to love the sport who'll lose out. I think the league and the players all need a good boot to the head over this.

I blame the players, mostly, they want to get paid like the players in the other major sports, but they don't have anywhere near the TV revenue that those sports have.
