Oh, yeah, it's Monday.

Still feel fairly crappy, but at least we all slept all night last night. :)

My day started out with a bang. J and I went out to the driveway and what did I see? A flat on my truck! I couldn't drive on it, and it's done this several times before, so I called the tire repair service. An hour and $61 later ($61 that I didn't have, UGH), a nail has been removed from my tire and it's been patched. So J and I are fixing to hop in the car and go.

More later!

Not to sound like a jerk or anything, but if you didn't have the money, why didn't you just change the tire and take it somewhere to get it fixed? Then you're only talking about a few bucks.

Because, sad as it sounds, I don't know how to change a tire on this car. The spare is under the back, and I've never had to take it off. I suppose I should educate myself. (And it's not that I don't know how to change a tire - I do. Just not on this car.) At any rate, at least this saved time - had I gone somewhere to have it fixed, I probably wouldn't have been to work by 10:00 and would have had to use vacation time.

Well, if I thought you were too dumb to figure it out, I wouldn't have mentioned it, but I think that's obviously not the case.

Anyway, I was thinking drive on the spare and get the other one fixed later on. But then that depends a lot on your drive to work.

My commute is about 30 miles one way in lots of traffic - 45 minutes on a good day. Driving on the donut tire, it would probably have taken me a lot longer, since I can't go at my usual ass-hauling rate of speed (see today's post for more on that!). :) And that would have made me late to work *and* bitchy. So just for that reason, it was worth the money.
